Long Time

Hi Tina,
Do you realize how long it has been since we had the chance to get to the computer? Well, we have had chances but we are two lazy dogs. Our mommy is home most of the time now and we just lay around all day. Mommy is always running around the house doing something and she leaves her computer on but we don't even bother to get up and blog. Too much effort - we think that's why they call it the "lazy days of summer." So we just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that we will try to do something else besides sleep.

Yikes, Macy!

Ick! Ick! Ick! I feel so bad for you, Macy. I hope you feel better soon and I'm sure lots of treats will help. I wish you could tell us what happened to you. Maybe other dogs (like me) need to know about the dangers that lurk in our houses. There's too much stuff in the path of dogs. Don't these people get it. All we need is a warm bed with a cuddly blanket, some toys, and lots of snacks. Getting around the people things is like an obstacle course. I slide on floors, trip over shoes, and I have hit my head on a table leg running to get my toy before someone else can get it. But, I never got hurt like you. Get all the sympathy you can. Have fun on your car ride tomorrow. Put a smug look on your face when those boys start their whining!

Tina

Trip to the Doctor

Hi Tina,
I need some sympathy - so I thought I would tell you about my trip to the doctor. Here's the story........ Mommy hadn't fixed my pigtails for over a week. Finally, last night she told daddy that my hair had to be fixed. Daddy started to brush my hair and get it ready for pigtails when he finally noticed my head was bleeding! I had been rolling and pawing at it for days. (These people just don't get what we are trying to tell them.) Anyway, as daddy looked he realized I had a big scab in my head. He used a warm wash cloth and tried to get the scab out but then realized my head had a huge cut on it. I was a really good girl and let daddy do the best he could. Then today I had to go to the doctor. The doctor thinks I bumped my head on something cause it is also all bruised around it. They shaved half of the one side of my head and my head looks like there are two craters the size of nickels on top. Very red and raw. Daddy says it looks like hamburger. They told my daddy at the vet that I am a very good girl. I held still, didn't whine or cry and let them shave my head and put medicine on it. I heard mommy say it is really ugly. Mommy is sad because now I won't be able to have my cute pigtails with bows when I come to visit you. I wish I could tell them what happened to me but I'll keep my secret.

Macy

Boys Are Wimps!

Hi Tina,
You heard right about our car ride. Sammy and Oscar are wimps! Must be a boy thing. Sammy was all nervous and panting - and Oscar a little, too. Let's hear it for the girls! Lizzie had a great time - bobbing, climbing, and hanging upside down. Me - I just slept or looked out the window. I'm a really good girl! We are going on one more car ride - on daddy's birthday. I hope those wimpy boys get a grip. I'll let you know after our next ride.
Here's to brave girls everywhere!

Car Ride

Macy and Sammy,

I heard you got to take a ride in the car. Good for you. Now, Sammy, don't be scared. I'm scared of thunder, fireworks, loud banging of any kind, but I love the car. It's really cool and you'll get used to it, especially since it will take you three days to get to where I live! I'm not jealous that you got new leashes, collars, and stuff. I'd be mad if you got lots of dog treats. Oh, no, here comes a lady on a bike with a kid in a seat on the back! Woof! Woof!

She's gone now. Glad that's over. There's lots going on out my window today. I'm getting hoarse from barking all day.

See you soon with your new bunny gear!

Tina

New Collars and Leashes

Hi Tina,
Things have been kind of boring around here. We haven't seen Mister for a couple of days but now we will really bark at him the next time he is out. We have just been laying around on the couch and sleeping. Mommy has been on something called spring break and we have just been hanging out with her. We LOVE that!
So, mommy went shopping and bought us new bunny collars and leashes. Something about they will be cute on us when we come to see you. Hmmmmm - just cause mommy loves bunnies - does that mean we have to??
We know your daddy's birthday is very soon. In fact, we stuck something in his card that we found in the closet. Anyway, we were just wondering if you would get something extra special for a treat - after all, everyone should get something at a birthday celebration.
Time to go back to sleep...

The Same Thing is Happening to Me!

Macy and Sammy,

The same thing is happening to me. Two new dogs in my neighborhood. One is Max -- some kind of chihauhau-looking dog. Spins around when he barks. I ignore him. He lives almost across the street from me. Then, two houses down the street, there's another new dog. I haven't seen him/her yet, but I heard my daddy tell my mommy that there's a new dog there. A bull dog named Buster used to live there. I guess he's gone, but I don't want to talk about that! I'll just get my barker warmed up in case I see the new dog soon.

I was riding in the car the other day and I saw Romeo and Juliet. Romeo was standing on the side of the road and Juliet was rolling in her back, probably in something stinky. I was so jealous. But, I barked real loud so they could see I was in the car and they couldn't get away with being outside and having me bark at them.

So many things to bark at. Why don't these people get it -- it's so much fun!! Who wants to be quiet? At least you get treats for barking.

New Neighbor

Hi Tina,
We just want you know that a new neighbor moved in next door. His name is Mister and he is a little Yorkie mix. He has big ears but the same coat as a Yorkie . We heard our mommy say he was cute. How can she say that when he can't even bark right! He makes this little high pitched bark that turns into a howl that you can barely hear. We have been barking our heads off at him and then mommy or daddy has to say the "T" word to get us back in. Works every time!!! In fact, that's why we are in right now - mommy said the "T" word. We're going to lay around for about a half hour. Then act like we really have to go outside. By then mommy will forget that we just want to bark at Mister.
Hope your day is filled with barking and lots of treats!

You're On!!

Sammy,

Get ready for a barking beat-down. I think I'm the champ without any practice. The shade has been pulled down on my window for today. I think because I've been barking for about an hour now -- at least that's what my mommy said. I don't even know what an hour is, but she was real mad. I couldn't help it. Dogs were walking past my house. Then, some ladies appeared pushing a baby carriage, and then the kids were out on their skateboards. My daddy calls these kids the "flying tomatoes." I don't care what they're called. They shouldn't be in front of my house banging those boards on the street.

Oops. Gotta go. Here comes Romeo and Juliet. Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!.............

Barkula

Hi Tina, (a.k.a. Barkula)
I think we should have a barking contest. I hate to brag but I know I would win!! I am always getting yelled at for barking. In fact, whenever my mommy or daddy opens the door for me to go outside, I hit the deck barking. They yell at me to stop, but hey, don't they realize it's my job to let the world know I'm out there. My daddy says that you should start practicing now for when I get there. Daddy says your mommy and daddy won't mind if you practice. In fact, that will be my excuse when I bark. I'll just pretend I'm practicing for our barking contest.
Love,
Sammy
P.S. Macy barks, too. But I definitely have her beat!

Santa's Gone

Macy and Sammy,
Santa's gone!! And, I ate all my Christmas goodies, so now I'm sad. But, I heard my mommy and daddy talking about you the other day.
They said you will be talking a long ride in the car. I'm jealous because I love to go in the car. I think you are coming to see me. This will surely mean lots of dinners and snacks. I will probably bark a lot because I'm Barkula. I just hope I don't get punished for barking and fighting. My terrier spirit gets me in trouble all the time.

Tina

Boring!!!!

Hi Tina,
We hate when it's January. All the excitement is over. Mommy and Daddy have gone back to work. We get stuck in our kennel all day. Then
we just lay around and do nothing! We were just wondering if you are bored, too - now that it is January!

Yes!! Go! Go! Go!

Sammy,

You definitely have the right idea about presents. Grab them when you can and run fast to hide them. I can see that I need to get smaller packages for you so you can escape without anyone seeing you and putting your crime on video. Maybe this video will be educational for other dogs who need to learn how to handle a box that is nearly half their size.

Macy,

Where were you? That Sammy is quick and if you don't watch out, he'll take your presents. Be alert and watch out for him.

Glad you like the cookies. It broke my heart when they went in a box and then to the Post Office.

Love,
Tina

Christmas Fun

Hi Tina,

We are sad that Christmas is over, too. Our trees are all put away. Mommy and Daddy have been working taking everything down and then we get ignored. We had alot of fun and we really like the toys and treats you got us. We really, really love the cookies! We thought you might want to see what a hit they were. Hey, about Max - maybe Leroy will be jealous!

Love,

Macy and Sammey

It's Over and I'm Sad

Macy and Sammy,

I think Christmas might be over because all the trees and other stuff I have to walk around are gone. I have eaten all my presents, at least the ones you can eat. Now, I'm back to the usual Liva Snaps and Healthy Edible bones, but I don't care. At least there's something to eat. Yesterday was great because there was a busted-open watermelon on the road and I got two pieces before my mommy yanked me away from it. Hope it's still there today.

Bad news is there's a new dog on my street, nearly right across from my house. I'm barking at it right now because it's walking in my yard! Heard my daddy say it's some kind of terrier mix from the Humane Society -- name is Max. Looks like a wimp to me. I'm barking my head off and it's not even looking.

Tell your mommy to take you to one of the dog stores. If you bark, she can take you right back home. It's really fun and since you like to sniff packages and stuff, you'd love how the place smells.

Happy New Year
Tina
